History of the TRANSAT 6.50 Race
First race took place in 1977
The first race took place in 1977 on the route from Great Britain to Antique via Tenerife. 23 sailors started. The race is acknowledged as a test for sailors wishing to start ocean races on big yachts. Ellen McArtur, Bruno Peyron and many other ocean sailors started their career in Transat 650. Up to now any non-French sailor won this Race.
Polish sailors in Transat 650
Kuba Jaworoski on Spanielek yacht took part in the first Transat 650. Since then any Polish sailor started in this event.
